The Cleveland Browns are entering Todd Monken's first season at a time when throwing the football efficiently has become increasingly difficult across the NFL. CBS Sports has explored several reasons for the league-wide decline, including the rise of two-high safety looks that limit explosive plays, faster and more versatile defensive personnel, offensive lines struggling against increasingly athletic pass rushers, young quarterbacks entering the league from simplified college systems, and offensive coordinators becoming more conservative as defenses continue to adjust.
