Inouye International Airport (HNL) Hawaii Fun Facts: Hawaii is the 50th U.S. State and the only one made entirely of islands. It features unique geography, including no billboards, colorful sand beaches, and the tallest sea mountain in the world. That mountain being Mauna Kea on the Big Island. Measured from its base on the ocean floor, Mauna Kea stands nearly 33,500 feet tall, making it taller than Mount Everest. Hawaii is the only U.S. state with no snakes. The islands have no snakes, and bringing one into the state is a serious crime. Beyond standard gold sand, Hawaii has beaches with green, red, pink, and black sand created by volcanic minerals. Hawaii is also the only state whose size grows every year. The Kīlauea volcano on the Big Island has actively added new square miles of land to the state for decades. Hawaii recognizes both English and Hawaiian as its official state languages.
