The 50 States Challenge Episode 29 – State 25 of 50 – Hawaii
This year marks the 250th birthday of The United States of America, and as a lifelong U.S. citizen, I decided whatever I do on the channel for the rest of the year should be focused on this incredibly diverse & beautiful country. And what better way to do that than by completing a self imposed challenge? Introducing to The 50 States Challenge! Where I have until the end of the of the year to fly into, and feature on the channel, all 50 U.S. states! Over the next 6 months I'll be posting all of the flights from this challenge in order, so you too can take this incredible journey, exactly as I did! I'll be posting 3 flights per week at 2:00pm central on Tuesday & Thursday and 10:00am central on Saturday. This upload schedule will continue until all 50 states have been flown into! So check back three times every week to take this incredible journey with me! This is flight 29 of The 50 States Challenge! Today's state is Hawaii!

Hawaii Fun Facts:
Hawaii is the 50th U.S. State and the only one made entirely of islands. It features unique geography, including no billboards, colorful sand beaches, and the tallest sea mountain in the world. That mountain being Mauna Kea on the Big Island. Measured from its base on the ocean floor, Mauna Kea stands nearly 33,500 feet tall, making it taller than Mount Everest. Hawaii is the only U.S. state with no snakes. The islands have no snakes, and bringing one into the state is a serious crime. Beyond standard gold sand, Hawaii has beaches with green, red, pink, and black sand created by volcanic minerals. Hawaii is also the only state whose size grows every year. The Kīlauea volcano on the Big Island has actively added new square miles of land to the state for decades. Hawaii recognizes both English and Hawaiian as its official state languages. Hawaii's state flag features the British Union Jack in the corner, making it the only U.S. state flag to display a foreign national symbol. Iolani Palace in Honolulu is the only official royal palace on U.S. soil and it had electric lights before the White House. Hilo, featured in this video, is also the rainiest city in the U.S. and one of the rainiest cities in the world. Hilo receives an average of 142 inches of rain, over 275 day period per year, easily making it the wettest and rainiest city in the U.S.
