Virtual Trail Run for Treadmill 4K | North Fork and Boundary Trails | Rocky Mountain National Park

Enjoy a long, virtual trail run beginning at Husted Lake on the alpine tundra of Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. From above 11,000 feet (3,350 meters) altitude, descend with me past alpine lakes and through the forest along the North Fork of the Big Thompson River. Watch the landscape change from the alpine tundra, to pine trees, and finally to more deciduous trees as we drop down to 7,000 feet (2,100 meters). This beautiful scenery will make your treadmill workout easier to enjoy! This video begins under smokey skies with smokey air all around as a forest fire rages just 10 miles away. Days later, the trail was closed and eventually overtaken by the fire. Nine months later, I returned to the trail to see how it fared. Much of the forest is blackened by the fire, but the spring season is already showing signs of brilliant green growth and recovery!
