Image transfers can be tricky, and sometimes they just don’t turn out the way we hoped!
If you’d like a few tips for getting a better image transfer, you can watch my video, Perfecting Image Transfers | The Simple Step That Made the Difference.
But in this printing session, I had a choice: wash the plate and start over, or keep going and see what happened. I decided to keep going, adding layers and letting the print find its own way.
My gel printing videos are real-time experiments. I don't rehearse or script the printing process, and I don't know exactly how a print will turn out until I make it. You see the actual process, including the surprises, mistakes, and happy discoveries along the way.
Materials:
12x14 gel plate by Gellef
Brayers by Speedball
Liquitex Basics acrylic paint
Amsterdam Standard acrylic paint
Gelelf Premium Series acrylic paint
Mulberry paper
