It's hard for reviewers to put aside personal bias and try to find a rackets true merits and faults. While I am a huge fan of the 1000z and find it superior in most situations, I played with the 800 pro for a week in singles, doubles, and feeding to find the areas where it did shine. While I still find the racket lacks some identity and the "right player" for the 800 pro is a bit hard to define, there are some areas where the stiffness and mute string bed feeling do play into your favor. Would I switch over from the 1000z? Absolutely not. Will some players prefer it over the 1000z? There are already cases of that. While most players I've talked to prefer the 1000z on their good days, most find the 800pro more reliable/consistent racket. Maybe I'm just biased but hey, you do what you gotta do.
