BBC Radio Show 'It's Rock And Roll' Broadcast 24th December 1977 Featuring Darts

Clips courtesy of Vinnie Jones / Well Now Dig This! Darts had been extremely active since their previous appearance on the show, securing a recording contract with Magnet records and touring extensively throughout the UK. At the time of this broadcast, Daddy Cool had slipped from a highest position of No 6 to No 8 in the charts. Come Back My Love was mentioned by Griff as being the next single which of course led to three consecutive No 2 singles, two being from the 2nd album Everyone Plays Darts, The Boy From New York City and It's Raining. It is a shame that Den Hegarty decided to leave the band in late summer of 1978 as there was a sure fire number one single waiting for release in John Dummer's magnificent 'Late Last Night'. A finer pop/uptempo doo wop song, you will not find. The TV advert mentioned in the interview was for Carling Black Label lager featuring the song 'Shotgun'. To this day, nobody has found a recording of it which is extremely strange. Not even Carling could offer a positive result when contacted.
