I Wanted to See a Different Side of Rovinj

Rovinj, Croatia is one of those places that almost looks too perfect—the Adriatic Sea, colorful Old Town streets, stone alleyways and one of the most recognizable waterfronts in Istria. But I wanted to look a little closer. On my first visit to Rovinj, I found myself less interested in chasing the usual tourist stops and more interested in the quieter details of the city. The local market. Old stone stairways. People passing through narrow streets. Bicycles hidden beneath archways. Small openings between buildings where the Adriatic suddenly appears again. And eventually, the view that seems to bring all of Rovinj together—the Old Town rising above the waterfront. This film is simply the way I experienced it: slowly, through the eyes of a photographer, looking for the moments between the obvious ones.
