Trevorpalooza 2026 Fechtschule Fight

Trevor Palooza info! New offical name is Fechtschule Fight! My thoughts are in invite only "tournament" using historical rules from the 15th and 16th centuries. There will also be food and drinks. It will be a potluck just like previous events. You do not have to fight to show up but part of my invitation criteria was I believe each of you are capable of fighting under this unique rule set! Schedule 11am show up! 12ish bonfire and main event After that relaxing eating and having a good time! Unique tournament rules Gear Requirements, mask, sturdy gloves for longsword, a feder suited for Fectshule fighting. Optional gear jacket, elbow protection etc (to your comfort level) The events purpose to to show artful fencing with restricted scoring criteria, the structure of the event will flow thusly, all competitors will form a large circle, this is your ring. The Fectmiester (me) will accept the first challenger. We will agree on a number of "wounds" to fence to traditionally 3,5 or 7 We will fence to the simulated "bloom" historically a red mark to the scalp for our context the swords will be coated in chalk and will (in theory) leave a mark on the mask. Once our fight is finished and we have shown our skill the challenger can then be challenged by another and the cycle continues until everyone has fought as much as they like. Only hits to the top of the head will count, pressing the hands to create openings is also valid but is not a score, hits to any other part of the body are not scored and discouraged(you may threaten the body to set up your head hit however) no thrusts of any kind are permitted and if you land with your point you lose the match. Additional victory conditions, if you end in a position that shows full dominance of your opponents (arm wrap with sword placed politely on the neck, disarm, etc) you win the match
