Exploring Port Dinorwic Railway Station - closed abandoned disused Felinheli Caernarfon Bangor

Port Dinorwic station served the small village of Felinheli between 1874 and 1964 and was located on the Bangor to Caernarfon line, on the banks of the Menai Straits. The village grew as a port for the surrounding slate quarries. Passenger services ceased in 1960, and freight in 1964. The line finally closed in 1972 and is now a public walkway. The station building remains and was converted into residential use about 10 years ago.
