Mt Baldy March 21, 2026 Reopening of Trail.

Hiked Mt Baldy Via Baldy Bowl Trail. Came back down the Devils Backbone. It was a 12 mile round trip with 4000 feet of elevation gain. Summit elevation of 10064 feet. Still some patches of snow left on the trail. It was a cold and windy day at the Summit. A section of the Devils Backbone was washed out due to snow and rain. Use caution when doing the Devils Backbone. It was March 21, 2026 first day of reopening of the trail since the closure. Mt Baldy is a serious hike. It is generally cooler at the Summit.
