Something can feel completely peaceful — and still be completely wrong. Not because peace is fake, but because peace was never designed to be the test in the first place.
We've built an entire discernment system around one sensation: if it feels right, it must be true. But Jeremiah warns us the heart is "deceitful above all things" — and in Matthew 7, Jesus describes people who were fully confident, fully at peace, and still completely wrong about where they stood with him.
So if feeling right isn't the test, what is?
In this video, we look at the Bereans in Acts 17 — a group who received teaching with genuine eagerness, and then examined scripture every single day to see if it was true. Even the words of an apostle who had personally seen the risen Christ. Not out of suspicion. Out of a settled understanding that truth is meant to be tested, not just felt.
We walk through why a feeling can never verify its own source, what it actually looks like to hold openness and verification together instead of choosing one over the other, and how to build the kind of daily habit the Bereans modeled — without becoming cynical or joyless in the process.
If you've ever trusted a feeling of certainty and later wondered if you should have checked it first, this video is for you.
