A film of a legal case at the old Water Tribunal in Valencia, Spain. This was Europe's oldest functioning court of justice, and it was a water tribunal. It had solved conflicts over water use since it was established in 960, more than one thousand years ago. Since the mid 13th century the court met each Thursday at 12 noon outside the cathedral in the centre of the city.
This TV-documentary was purchased by National Geographic, Discovery Channels, Al Arabia channels and was shown in about 150 countries. It also won the Grand Prix as the best environmental film in the world in Festival international du film d'environment in Paris (1999). The Series was produced by NRK in cooperation with the University of Bergen.
