Solo Female Captain Faces a Huge Load of White Broken Rice and Her 240-Ton Cargo Boat!

The second day of receiving broken rice brings more challenges than we expected. ❤️ My husband is still suffering from a fever, so I have to care for him while managing our work aboard the boat near the Vietnam–Cambodia border. Several trucks arrive carrying broken rice, and we watch as the cargo is unloaded through a conveyor system. We also share a glimpse into the rice processing industry and the hard work behind every shipment. Today, the price of first-grade white broken rice reaches 9,500 Vietnamese dong per kilogram, approximately $0.37 USD or €0.33 EUR per kilogram. It may seem like a small amount, but every kilogram matters in the rice trade. Despite feeling weak, my husband tries his best to help. When the supply of first-grade white broken rice runs out, we must move our boat and find a safe place to anchor for the night.
