Spitfire Recognition| US Air Force Instructional Film (1944)

This digitally remastered instructional film was made for distribution among US forces to describe the Supermarine Spitfire's various roles in different theatres of World War II. The American commentary tracks the aircraft's evolution from the victory of the Supermarine S-5 in the 1927 Schneider Trophy to the Seafire Mk F XV and Spitfire Mk F XXI. The design evolution is depicted in diagrams and a wide selection of film clips designed to show off the aircraft's unique, and changing, features.
