The Uncertain-T is one of the wildest and most mysterious show rods ever built. It started as a cartoon sketched in a high-school physics class in 1960. Seventeen-year-old Steve Scott decided to build it for real in his parents’ garage. Four and a half years later he debuted a radical fiberglass Model T hot rod that dominated the 1965 Winternationals, beat George Barris and Ed Roth, and even led to a permanent restraining order against Barris after a physical confrontation. The car became a magazine cover star, a Monogram model kit, and a national show attraction… then both Steve and the Uncertain-T largely disappeared. The car was lost for nearly 50 years until it was rediscovered in 2024. Steve Scott passed away just months later.
