After a week slowing down in Kuala Lumpur, we jumped on a train to somewhere quieter, somewhere more local, and Ipoh completely surprised us. Two weeks in this city gave us a Scottish castle with a heartbreaking history, a near abandoned mining town with a war hero's story hiding in it, a lane once built for secrets now covered in murals, and more friendly locals (and cats) than we could count. This one has it all: history, food, a date night, a sick kid curveball, and a city we didn't expect to fall for.
