SPRINTCARS, RD4 of SSS, Central Motor Speedway, Cromwell. 2023

Central Motor Speedway and Round 4 of the Southern Sprint Cars bought in the new year, 2023 with spectacular racing and the flying Californian Joel Myers Jr. A fantastic crowd packed around the arena, not only great crowd outside the fence, but on the other side, in the Pit area, plenty of cars in many different classes, but this video, we focus on the Weapons of War, the mighty Sprintcars. Having followed circuit racing for many, many years, the more i see speedway, the more i get drawn into it and great thing is, with speedway, you see the whole circuit, whole 400metres of race surface right before your eyes, plus don't see some of the ridiculous ruling that certain circuit races have introduced, that in my view, is killing their own sport, but forget bout that, lets get focused on the fantastic display of Sprintcar action. This is really only my 2nd year of seeing the Sprintcars, but with the Southern Sprintcar Series, i have filmed Round 1 from Custom Signs Beachlands Speedway, Round 2 Central Motor Speedway and like many speedway events that have been dealt a blow with weather, Round 3 which was back at Beachlands was rained out, and now with only 4 Rounds in their Series, today was the day it was all to shake down and wow, talk about in for a treat of racing, not only the great Southern lads with their cars ready to crank it, but also for the 2nd day we had the privilege of seeing young Joel Myers Junior in action, driving one of the Anderson Sprintcars, 46C. At 16 years old, this young fellow is exceptional to watch. The speed he shows, the accuracy, the "No Fear, Ride It High, Ride It Low" attitude is well and truly in his blood. Speaking to him on a couple brief occasions, he is very nice, humble young buck and so dam good to see this young fellow with a fantastic passion, that he lives and breathes. You see many youngsters his age, just wasting it and must say i was the same back in the good ol days, but a long way from home, away from his family, but being cared for in good Kiwi style, i take my hat off too Joel and like many, wish him all the best of luck in the future and from just the couple outings i have seen, by god he has a great future ahead. Good young, level headed kid, with a passion for one of the best dam motor racing forms their is, Sprintcars. Hes not out there to be compared with anyone else, he is out their for himself and the love of it. Time to stop smacking these plastic keys and time to get down to business...
