🇳🇬 Green–White–Green PKO & Tallow Soap | 6% Superfat In today's video, I'm making a beautiful green-white-green cold process soap inspired by the Nigerian flag 🇳🇬💚🤍💚. This recipe combines Palm Kernel Oil (PKO) and tallow to create a firm bar with good cleansing, bubbly lather and a rich, creamy feel. I also added kaolin clay for a smoother feel and sodium lactate to help with bar hardness and unmolding. 🧼 RECIPE — 1 kg Oils Oils/Fats Palm Kernel Oil (PKO) — 500 g Tallow — 500 g Lye Solution Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) — 149.9 g Distilled Water — 375 g Additives Sodium Lactate — 20 g Kaolin Clay — 50 g Fragrance Oil — 30 g Soap-safe green colorant — as needed White colorant — optional Superfat: 6% 💚🤍💚 PROCEDURE Prepare the lye solution: Carefully add the 149.9 g NaOH to 375 g distilled water—never water to lye. Stir in a well-ventilated area and allow it to cool. Prepare the oils: Melt the tallow and PKO together until completely melted and well combined. Allow the oils to cool to a suitable soapmaking temperature. Combine: Slowly add the lye solution to the oils and stick-blend until you reach a light trace. Additives: Add the kaolin clay, sodium lactate and fragrance according to your preferred soapmaking method. Mix thoroughly. Create the layers: Divide the soap batter into three portions. Color the first portion green, keep the middle portion white/cream, and color the final portion green. Pour: Pour the batter into the mold in three layers: 💚 Green → 🤍 White → 💚 Green Allow the soap to firm up, unmold and cut into bars. Cure for approximately 4–6 weeks in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area with good airflow between the bars. ✨ ABOUT THIS SOAP The PKO contributes cleansing and abundant lather, while tallow contributes hardness and a dense, creamy lather. Kaolin clay can give the finished bar a smoother, silkier feel. This is a traditional alkaline soap, so the final product should be properly cured and tested before use or sale. 🇳🇬 A beautiful soap inspired by our beautiful green-white-green flag.
