Chico Resch Breaks Down Connor Hellebuyck Trade (Season 10 | Episode 5)

Special Guest: Chico Resch of the New Jersey Devils Chico Resch joins the show to break down one of the biggest moves of the early 2026-27 season: the New Jersey Devils’ acquisition of three-time Vezina Trophy winner and 2026 Olympic gold medalist Connor Hellebuyck from the Winnipeg Jets. The longtime Devils analyst and former NHL goaltender shares his insider perspective on Hellebuyck’s style, what makes him elite between the pipes, and how the 33-year-old fits with New Jersey’s group. Resch also reacts to the trade itself—Hellebuyck’s holdout and suspension in Winnipeg, the return package that included Dawson Mercer, Nico Daws, and draft picks, and what it means for both teams’ Stanley Cup chances. From Hellebuyck’s career trajectory and Olympic heroics to his potential impact alongside the Devils’ roster and the technical side of his game, this episode delivers the kind of goaltending insight only a former NHL netminder and longtime broadcaster can provide. Whether you’re a Devils fan, a Jets supporter, or just want expert analysis on one of the league’s top goalies, this is a must-listen conversation.
