Wood Carving & Clay Sculpture | Creating a Rock Climber on Wood

Wood Carving & Clay Sculpture come together in this handmade rock climber sculpture. In this video, I create a detailed rock climber sculpture by combining wood carving with clay sculpture techniques. I use a piece of wood to build the rocky mountain and climbing surface, then sculpt the human climber by hand using sculpting clay. The goal is to create a dynamic scene that captures the movement and tension of a climber while ascending a rugged mountain. You’ll see the process of creating the wooden rock formation, shaping the clay figure, sculpting the anatomy and climbing pose, adding details, and bringing the final sculpture together. This project combines wood carving, clay sculpture, figurative sculpture, and handmade art to transform simple materials into a unique climbing scene.
