Autumn on the Norwegian Coast | Real Ocean Sounds

Experience the Norwegian coast in autumn, with real ocean waves recorded on location at a rocky shoreline known locally as “Lille Afrika” (Little Africa). The video captures the changing autumn light as the colours in the sky gradually become more vivid while waves roll across the rounded rocks. “Lille Afrika” is a local nickname for the peninsula, which got its name because its shape resembles the African continent when viewed from above. From the shoreline, the landscape offers a very different perspective — open sea, smooth rounded rocks, rolling waves and the changing colours of the evening sky. I wanted to capture the experience of actually being there rather than simply creating a scenic video. The recording begins with relatively subtle colours in the sky, which gradually develop into warmer and more vivid tones as the video progresses. The video was filmed with an Insta360 X4, while the natural sound was recorded separately using a Zoom H1 Essential field recorder. The camera captures the wide coastal landscape, while the dedicated recorder captures the natural sound of the waves from the shoreline. No music. No artificial sound effects. Just real waves, natural ocean sounds, wind and the changing atmosphere of the Norwegian coast.
