Then, the docket takes a turn as a new judge deals with a defendant who overslept her court date and another who decides he knows the law better than his own attorney. When a defendant fires his lawyer to read a pre-written motion demanding immediate dismissal, the judge has to sort through a tangled web of pseudo-legal theories.
