Knitting Podcast EP. 85 || Giddy Up! It's A WIP Round Up!

Thanks for joining me as I go through all of my knitting WIPs! 1 FO: **Holly The Highland Cow, by Jess Huff. This is a baby shower gift for my coworker, and she really liked it! I am using Red Heart acrylic yarn in the colors Aran, Buff, and Cafe Latte. I am using a 4mm ergonomic crochet hook. I made it completely baby safe and designed the eyes out of yarn and sewed them on. 12 WIPs: Where I am at and what I plan to do. 1. The Vegetable Patch Jacket, by Anni Howard, from the pattern book Homestead Cables by Knit Picks. I am using Knit Picks Wool of the Andes in the color Shire Heather. The pattern calls for using the same needles throughout, and I am using Knitter's Pride Zing 4mm. 2. Patons Cable Sweater. I got the pattern off of Etsy a few years ago and it is a classic 1980s pattern. I am using Lion Brand's Wool Ease worsted weight in the color fisherman. I am using Knitter's Pride Zing 3.5mm for the 1x1 ribbing and a 4.5mm for the body of the sweater. 3. Gift Knit and a Timed Make: 2 Pairs of Wrist Warmers. Morning Star Wrist Warmers from the book Knit Like A Latvian, by Ieva Ozolina. I am using Knit Picks Palette yarn in the colors Tea Rose and Seafaring with DPNs in the size US 0 (2mm), although the pattern recommends US 000. I am also making another pair of the Tree Motif using Knit Picks Palette yarn in the colors Stellar Heather and Peapod with DPNs in the size US 1 (2.25mm). 4. Vanilla Socks pattern from The Knitter's Handy Book of Knitting Patterns, by Ann Budd. I am using Patons Kroy Sock yarn in the color Midnight Orchid and I am using DPNs and 2.5mm needle for the first part of the cuff, and then a 2 mm for the remaining sock. 5. Winter Day Balaclava, by Natalie V., and I got the paid pattern off of Ravelry. I am using Knit Picks Palette held double in the color Lingonberry, and I am using DPNs size US 7 (4.5mm). 6. Point Edward Mitts, by Fairlight Fibers, and I got the paid pattern off of Ravelry. I am using Patons Classic Wool in the color of Grey Marl, and I am using DPNs sized US 4(3.5mm) 7. Hazel Cardi -- Set-In Sleeve Crew Neck Cardigan from the book, The Knitter's Handy Book of Sweater Patterns, by Ann Budd. I am using 2 strands of Knit Pick's Upcycle Alpaca Blend yarn Sport weight with US 6 (4mm) Sunstruck(Knit Picks) needles for the 2x2 ribbing and US 7 (4.5mm) for the body of the cardigan. 8. Palette Cardigan: Set-In Sleeve V-neck Cardigan using the pattern book, The Knitter's Handy Book of Sweater Patterns, by Ann Budd. I am using Knit Picks Palette yarn in the color Camel Twist and I am using the Knit Pick Reflections Lace in size US 2 (2.75mm) for a 2x2 ribbing and the body of the cardigan will be knit in US 3 (3.25mm). 9. The Finely from the pattern book Only Yoking, by Olga Putano. I am using Knitter's Pride interchangeable needles in the size US 5 (3.75mm). I employ a leap frog method to keep track of my stitches. I am using Knit Picks Upcycle Blend sport weight yarn in the colors Sapphire and Sea Glass. 10. Ripple Camisole, by Jessie Maed Designs using K&C cotton yarn, fingering weight, and using US 4 (3.5mm) Four Square needles. 11. Vanilla Dishcloth using Peaches and Cream 100% Cotton yarn and US 7 (4.5mm) straight needles. 12. The Wilderness Sweater, by Linka Neuman. The first sleeve is done and I am using Alafosslopi yarn. For the cuff I used dpns US 8 and US 10 for the main part of the sleeve and a US 10.5 for the colorwork for the first sleeve and a US 10.75 for the second sleeve. I think the US 10.5 dpn made a better and more concise colorwork pattern.
