"Night In Tunisia" a jazz standard every jazz musician needs to know. It moves back and forth from Swing to Latin, making it really fun to play.
This lesson will be looking at 3 important areas you need to know for any jazz standard.
1) The Head (Melody) - is written out in a with some chords added it, and can be played as is, or used as a guide for your own ideas.
2) The Comping (Chords) - The chord voicings are written out in long notes giving you the opportunity to come-up with your own rhythms, feel free to get ideas from my performance on the video.
3) The Solo - Parts of the solo are written out, watch the video for a more in-depth explanation of the arpeggios, scales, and other tools used in coming-up with the solo, The other parts are completely improvised and a great place to try out your own ideas.
