Triumph Speed Twin 1200cc vs my Bonneville T100 900cc When I took my T100 in for an overpriced service at Blade in Swindon, they lent me a Speed Twin for 5 hours! Observations and comparisons Speed Twin - 1200 snatchy on take off, Speed Twin - Fierce Brakes from the double discs on front Speed Twin - Smaller, thinner less comfortable seat Speed Twin - A little more poke but not really usable Speed Twin - Bar end mirrors look nice but vulnerable and work no better Similar dials on both Speed Twin - Exhaust….nice sound but different to the traditional triumph sound Speed Twin - Pedals - smaller than on the T100 as are the gear leaver and brake. More difficult to locate? Less comfortable pegs Speed Twin - Seating position more sporty - pegs higher and further back than T100 Speed Twin - Fuel cap to be honest cheap and nasty compared with the heavy chrome on the T110 Speed Twin - Triumph badge on stencilled while T110 has the traditional badge. Spoked wheels on T110 while moulded wheels on the Speed Twin. The most obvious difference when riding is the sound. REVS - final drive - exactly the same ! Speed Twin 3000 revs in 6th = 57mph T100 3000 revs in 5th = 57mph Fuel Consumption T100 66mpg Speed Twin 55mpg PS - while in the dealership I spoke to a guy who had a 1200 and he said "Its very handy to have those extra cc when you need a bit of "umph" !! Absolute nonsense - the T100 is really only barely discernible from the 1200 and both have way more power than anyone would ever need !!! ‪@RobLittleuk‬
