A Colloquium on J.M. Synge with Declan Kiberd and Dr. Catherine Wilsdon.

Embassy of Ireland, Germany was proud to host an online colloquium presenting lectures by two esteemed speakers, Professor Declan Kiberd, Professor of Irish Studies at Notre Dame and Dr. Catherine Wilsdon, lecturer at the University of Notre Dame’s Keough-Naughton Institute for Irish Studies. Professor Kiberd’s engaging talk dissected the ways in which Synge's experience of continental radicalism was mapped onto Synge’s depictions. Dr. Wilsdon’s talk offered insights into the young writer's travels in Europe while also discussing the impact these experiences had on him in his development as a writer.
