The Aussie Fisherman Greg shows how to cook crabs. How to prepare mudcrabs ready to eat. I caught these beauties myself in my ultimate pro crabpots. First, I get my Iron and Bark cooker out and put enough water to cover the crabs. Turn on the gas and light it up, wait until the water is boiling. Put some corse salt in the water. It's better to use salt water from the sea. Take the crabs I had already prepared for cooking, and place them into the cooker. Once the water has come back to the boil, give them 15 minutes at boiling point. They will be cooked, then place the crabs in some icey water to cool them off. So you can clean them ready to eat. Cleaning mudcrabs after they are cooked is very easy. Just break off the body shell, take the rest of the waste off, and give it a good wash. If you are cooking the crabs on a stove, you probably should give them 20 minutes at boiling point. Mudcrab meat can be used in many ways, in salads, curries, and sandwichs, lots of other ways.
