LIVE: "Marching On Aden" Houthis Smash Through Saudi-Backed Defenses In Massive Yemen Offensive Yemen is spiraling back into total warfare as heavily armed Houthi rebels launch a massive, devastating offensive, advancing to within just 80 kilometres of the temporary capital, Aden! In a shocking escalation that has completely shattered the 2022 UN-brokered truce, Houthi forces seized the entire Al-Maqatirah district after a brutal three-day assault, forcing government troops into a desperate retreat towards Tur al-Bahah. Fierce, close-quarters combat is now raging at a critical military camp right at the entrance to the Tur al-Bahah district, which is one of the final main approaches to the internationally recognised government's last major stronghold. This terrifying advance brings the Iran-aligned fighters closer to Aden than at any point since the initial outbreak of war in 2015! Adding to the apocalyptic chaos, the offensive has completely severed the main strategic mountain road linking Aden to the besieged city of Taiz, displacing over 100,000 desperate civilians and sparking catastrophic shortages of food, fuel, and medicine.
