🏝️ WE FOUND PARADISE… BUT THE WIND HAD OTHER IDEAS! 💨🌊 Just when we thought Western Australia couldn't possibly throw another spectacular campsite our way… along comes BIG LAGOON!😍 This week the travelling_willows leave Denham behind and head north into the magnificent **Francois Peron National Park**, where deep red dirt, brilliant white beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters create some of the most breathtaking coastal scenery we've experienced on our Big Lap. And our home for the next SIX nights? The absolutely stunning Big Lagoon! What a cracker of a spot! 🏕️ With Raygun settled in, it was time to get out and explore this incredible corner of Shark Bay. 🚙 Cattle Well – Another fascinating stop along the sandy tracks, surrounded by the rugged beauty and rich colors of the Peron Peninsula. 🏖️ South Gregories – Red cliffs, pristine beaches and unbelievably clear water. Seriously, how many different shades of blue can one coastline have? 🌊 Gregories Campground – Another absolute beauty! Secluded beaches, stunning coastal scenery and those spectacular contrasts between the red earth and turquoise Indian Ocean. This is the WA we've fallen in love with! 📍 Cape Peron – The northern tip of the peninsula and a place we'd been really looking forward to exploring. Unfortunately, WA decided to roll out its trademark welcome… 25+ knot winds! 💨😂 But a bit of breeze wasn't going to stop us! We explored the dunes, wandered the beaches and soaked up the incredible scenery where the red cliffs meet the ocean. 👀 Skipjack Point – WOW! Just WOW! The elevated walkways and lookout views across the crystal-clear waters were simply sensational. This is one of those places where the camera struggles to do the scenery justice. We also explored the lighthouse area before heading back south, calling into beautiful Herald Bight for another look at this remarkable coastline. And the weather? Well, let's just say the wind blew like a bastard for pretty much our entire six-night stay! 😂💨 But here's the thing… Even with six days of relentless wind, Big Lagoon still managed to become one of our favourite camps of the entire lap! That's saying something when you consider the incredible places we've already visited. Another unforgettable chapter of our Australian adventure, another spectacular part of Western Australia and another reminder of why we love this travelling lifestyle so much. 🎬 COMING UP NEXT WEEK… Before we say goodbye to Francois Peron National Park, we take a fascinating look around the historic Peron Homestead, then point the Ranger south as our Big Lap continues.
