A Toronto severe thunderstorm swept across the Greater Toronto Area on September 2, 2026, bringing large hail, destructive wind gusts, flash flooding and widespread power outages. Environment Canada escalated its alerts as the storms moved through Vaughan, North York, Scarborough and surrounding communities, including a red warning for an extremely dangerous thunderstorm.
