A difficult full-mouth implant case requires more than simply choosing a strong restorative material. Implant position, restorative thickness, framework design, hygiene, occlusion, and esthetics all have to work together.
In this video, I show how we approached a challenging full-mouth implant case and developed a ceramic solution designed to improve strength, esthetics, function, and patient comfort.
I walk through the case from the initial evaluation and temporary/wax try-in through scanning, design, milling, and fabrication. I also explain why we used a cobalt-chromium framework with ceramic rather than simply making the restoration thicker.
Topics covered include:
Full-mouth implant planning
Implant-to-implant spacing and pontic design
Facial and lingual thickness
Cobalt-chromium framework design
Opaque and porcelain application
Ceramic vs. composite
Occlusion and strength
Natural tooth morphology and translucency
Tissue contour and hygiene
Designing restorations that are easier for the patient to clean
The goal is not simply to make a restoration that looks good. It needs to function properly, remain cleanable, provide adequate strength, and still achieve natural-looking esthetics.
