Watch this 3 minute exchange between myself and Maggie Rice, Deputy City Administrator regarding the loophole that existed before Monday's meeting and the protections we put in place by passing the ordinance that was in front of the Board. Now, no standalone data center can come into Fort Smith without the Planning Commission holding a hearing and, if approving, it then go to the Board of Directors. You the citizen should be fully aware of any data center that would want to come into our city. There are also protections in place for cities who are water customers of ours. #FortSmith #fortsmithar #fortsmitharkansas #Arkansas #datacenter
