Hendrik Hofmeyr - Mabalêl Fantasy for Flute and Piano

The tragic legend of Mabalel, a chief’s carefree daughter, remains one of South Africa’s most haunting folklore stories. While fetching water from the Limpopo River, she was ambushed by a legendary crocodile named Lalele. Her memory lives on forever in local songs, a classic poem by Eugène Marais, and even an acclaimed South African Pinot Noir wine. Cobus du Toit - Flute Eugene Joubert - Piano
