Bennett Quints is a prolific (and perhaps slightly unhinged) crime fiction author who has managed the impossible feat of writing 47 hardboiled novels, all set within a single 24-hour period. A self-proclaimed "god" of his own fictional worlds, Quints is a staunch Luddite who fears technology—believing iPhones are traps designed to chew up his fingers—and prefers writing longhand on paper, scrolls, or stone walls. His literary universe is uniquely surreal, featuring characters with three eyes, 1970s Montana landscapes devoid of phone lines, and his signature "confident" protagonist, Boobs Rinse, a 17-year-old super-taster detective who solves crimes through the questionable method of tasting bodily fluids. Though he spent his third-grade year editing the Paris Review and once wrote a prize-winning essay on Jimmy Carter, Bennett remains humble enough to admit when he’s being a "jerk," provided he knows for certain which planet he is currently standing on.
