2023 Norway Cruise in April with Paul & Mary

This was our Cruise to Norway with Paul & Mary in April 2023. Paul drove to Southampton where we boarded the P & O Cruise Ship Iona. The first day was spent at sea sailing north up the North Sea. On Day 2 we arrived at Stavanger in Norway. In the morning we walked around the town and had a coffee at Hansen Hjornet Cafe and then we took the Pulpit Rock boat tour. We stopped for lunch at the Lysefjordsenteret Cafe before visiting the Pulpit Rock at Preikestolen, Songesand. We then saw a few waterfalls before returning to the Cruise Ship. On the third day we sailed through the fjord to Olden. We took the Wally Wagon tour of Olden in the morning and then transferred to the coach trip to Briksdal. The coach parked in the town where we had some lunch before walking to the edge of the Briksdal Glacier. On the fourth day we arrived in Alesund. We took the local bus up to the Aksla Viewpoint. Whilst there we ate at the Fjellstua Aksla Cafe before taking the bus back down again. Then it was a tour around Alesund before returning to the ship. On Day 5 we arrived at Haugesund where we took a coach trip inland to Aakrafjord and a boat trip to see the Langfoss Waterfall. We then returned via Haraldshaugen to Haugesund and the Cruise Ship for our journey home.
