Northern Leaders Finally Speak Out About Peter Obi

Northern community leaders in Anambra State have finally addressed some of the most controversial allegations against Peter Obi. Alhaji Garba Haruna, the Sarkin Hausa of Awka, and Mahmud Ibrahim, Secretary of the Hausa Community in Onitsha, speak from their personal experiences during Obi’s administration. In this video, we examine seven major allegations involving: • Discrimination against northerners • Special identity cards • The demolition of a mosque • Free education and Hajj sponsorship • Agricultural loans • Obi’s relationship with the Northern community after leaving office • The market and road project allegations Mahmud Ibrahim also provides a timeline, stating that the mosque was destroyed during the February 2006 crisis, before Peter Obi assumed office in March 2006. According to him, Obi later visited the displaced community and contributed towards rebuilding the mosque.
