We revisited the other Lanterns.

With the highly anticipated HBO Lanterns premiere just around the corner, we decided to do some homework and rewatch Ryan Reynolds' 2011 Green Lantern movie. In this episode of the Sons of Gunn Podcast, we break down exactly where the 2011 film went wrong and dive deep into the cosmic lore of Sinestro, Parallax, and the Guardians. We also discuss our massive expectations for the new DCU series, why Aaron Pierre’s John Stewart is the perfect focal point instead of Hal Jordan, and the latest DCU rumors involving an Elseworlds Constantine project. Drop a LIKE if you are hyped for the HBO premiere, and let us know in the comments: Is the 2011 Green Lantern movie really as bad as everyone remembers? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Timestamps: [00:00] - Intro, Welcome & Weekly Catch-Up (Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Softball & Anniversaries) [04:36] - DCU Lanterns Screeners Update & The Watch Schedule Strategy [08:12] - Rewatching the 2011 Ryan Reynolds "Green Lantern" Movie [11:42] - Lantern Lore: Learning About Sinestro, Parallax, and The Color Spectrums [15:08] - The Guardians, The Manhunters, & Oa's CGI Design [21:03] - Expectations for the New "Lanterns" HBO Series [23:03] - Aaron Pierre’s Passion for Playing John Stewart [25:21] - Why Following John Stewart (Instead of Hal Jordan) is the Right Choice [33:58] - DCU's San Diego Comic-Con Pivot from Supergirl to Lanterns [36:50] - Teasing Future Podcast Covers: Batman Caped Crusader [38:22] - DCU Rumors: Elseworlds Constantine & Missing Justice League Members [41:04] - Preparing for the "Lanterns" Hour-and-50-Minute Premiere & Outro --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Link to Friends From Work and join us in the discord! https://www.theffwpodcast.com/home Hosted by: Matt File & Jaylen Blue X: @SonsofGunnPod Bluesky: @Sonsofgunnpodcast.bsky.social IG: @Sonsofgunnpodcast ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Song: Call To Adventure Composer: Scott Buckley Website:    / musicbyscottb   License: Creative Commons (BY 4.0) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/...
