The FULL STORY of ISREA in 15 Minutes

From the ancient kingdoms of Israel to the modern State of Israel, this documentary tells the complete story of one of the most historically significant and contested lands in the world. In May 1948, David Ben-Gurion declared the establishment of the State of Israel. Within hours, the new country was at war. But 1948 was not the beginning of the story. To understand Israel, we have to go much further back — to the ancient Israelite kingdoms, Assyrian and Babylonian conquest, exile and migration, Persian and Hellenistic rule, the Hasmonean dynasty, Roman occupation, the destruction of the Second Temple, Byzantine rule, the rise of Muslim dynasties, the Crusades, the Ottoman Empire, and eventually the rise of modern Zionism. This documentary follows the major turning points that shaped the region: Theodor Herzl and political Zionism, the Balfour Declaration, the British Mandate, the Holocaust, the 1947 UN Partition Plan, the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, the Palestinian refugee crisis, the Suez Crisis, the Six-Day War, the Yom Kippur War, the Camp David Accords, the rise of the PLO and Hamas, the First and Second Intifadas, the Oslo process, the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin, and the conflicts that continue into the 21st century. The goal is not to reduce thousands of years of history to a simple narrative, but to show how kingdoms, empires, religions, migrations, nationalism, wars, political movements, and competing claims gradually created the modern reality. This is the history of Israel — from antiquity to the present.
