The Only Way Japan Could Have Beaten America
December 1941. Nine Japanese submarines were sinking American tankers off the California coast. Then Tokyo called them home. What if they had stayed?
Japan could never conquer America. Its own war plan never even tried. But there was one way Japan could have made America quit the Pacific War, and it had nothing to do with Pearl Harbor or Midway. It was a war on the ships that carried America's oil, fuel and soldiers across the Pacific.
In this video, we follow that one door Japan left closed: the tanker war off the West Coast, the broken American torpedoes that gave Japan 21 months, and the code change that came just too late. Then we meet the Americans who slammed that door shut. The codebreakers, the submariners, the shipyard workers who built a Liberty ship in four days, and the 3,505 submariners still on eternal patrol.
Real history is clearly separated from the alternate timeline throughout.
Could Japan really have made America quit in 1942? Or would Americans have fought on no matter what? Tell me in the comments.
