27 February 2019. Aerial combat broke out over the Line of Control. Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman scrambled in a MiG-21 Bison, engaged the Pakistani aircraft package, and eventually ejected into Pakistan-controlled territory. But the aerial engagement was only the beginning. What followed were nearly 60 hours before Abhinandan returned to India through the Attari-Wagah border on 1 March 2019. NDTV +1 In this documentary, we go through the story chronologically — from the aerial engagement and ejection, to his capture, the videos that emerged from Pakistan, the diplomatic tension surrounding his release, and finally his return to India. The video also looks at what is officially documented about the aerial engagement and distinguishes it from disputed or independently reported claims surrounding the loss of the Pakistani F-16.
