Six Through Eight (16:44) While this EP marks my first official release of original music, this is actually not the first original music I’ve written but the most recent over the last five years - this EP came together in the matter of a couple months (Oct-Nov 2024) from writing, to recording, to mixing and mastering (with the exception of “Split in Thirds”, of which the bones were written in 2019 but reworked and reimagined to fit the style of this EP). It just felt right that this would be the first bit of music I sent into the wild. After the first two tracks were written (“Once, Twice” & “Six Through Eight”), it was immediately apparent that I wanted create an acoustic based, themed EP, centered around similar chord shapes and voicings but each in different keys. The tracks “Forthright” and “The Fifth Arc” followed and the EP was taking shape but felt it needed another piece to feel whole. “Split in Thirds” became the merge of a 2019 idea and the current vibe and theme of the other tracks. I am so proud of this piece of work and I hope you enjoy it and makes you feel something.
