John Rector for Suffolk City Council

A Hometown Builder for Suffolk When I first ran for City Council, I did so because I love this city and believed I could help build it the right way. Today, after serving on City Council and delivering real results for the Downtown Suffolk Borough, I am asking for your support again. Suffolk has been my home for more than 35 years. My wife and I raised our family here. We have built friendships here. We worship here. We work here. This city is not just where I live. It is where my life is rooted. Experience That Builds Results Before serving on City Council, I represented the Suffolk Borough on the Planning Commission for nearly 16 years and served as Vice Chairman. I chaired the Ordinance Committee, helping guide updates to our Unified Development Ordinance so growth would be thoughtful, not careless. I represented the Hampton Roads Realtors Association on the steering committee for Suffolk2045, helping shape our Comprehensive Plan. I also served on their Government Affairs Committee, working with state legislators on real estate and property matters that affect our citizens. That foundation prepared me to step into City Council ready to work from day one. For more info, visit www.johnforsuffolk.com.
