Lake Mead has risen 11 days in a row since hitting the lowest level ever recorded, but not one of its abandoned marinas has come back. Las Vegas Bay, Overton Beach and Boulder Harbor are still cut off from the water. And at Callville Bay, crews are moving 15,000-pound anchors across the lake bottom just to keep the docks afloat. How high would Lake Mead have to rise to bring a marina back? And why might Callville Bay have to leave its own bay? In this video: • Lake Mead's 11-day rise from its all-time low • Every marina and ramp the falling lake has left behind • Why even a 20-foot rise wouldn't bring them back • Inside Callville Bay: anchors, steel cables, floating fuel docks and a marina that never stops moving • The 2022 plan that floated abandoning marina operations • The race to keep five launch ramps open down to 1,000 feet Sources: U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, National Park Service (Lake Mead National Recreation Area), and local news reports. #LakeMead #HooverDam #LakeMeadMarina #ColoradoRiver #LasVegas
