In this video lecture, the charge-transfer properties of different modified electrodes are discussed in detail using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and cyclic voltammetry (CV), with an equimolar mixture of ferricyanide and ferrocyanide as the redox probe. The electron-transfer rate constant, peak current, electrochemically active surface area (ECSA), overpotential, peak-to-peak separation, and charge-transfer resistance are correlated to understand the electrochemical behavior of the modified electrodes. The mechanisms underlying these correlations are also discussed in detail.
