Ringing a bell – The creation of a special instrument for the OPL

The Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg just received a specially cast bell for its percussion section. The bell has been melted by Royal Eijsbouts Bell Foundry in Asten and will be played in Mussorgsky's «Pictures at an Exhibition». The OPL is proud to be a cultural ambassador of Luxembourg and has thus chosen to use the national emblems for the traditional decoration of the bell. Discover how this special instrument which will be played by musicians of generations to come was made.
