Stephen West Kaleidoscope MKAL – Clue 4 Wedge Tips, a Broken Needle & a Missed Yarn Over | Week 4

⚠️ SPOILER ALERT: This video shows Clue 3 and Clue 4 of the Stephen West Kaleidoscope Mystery Knit-Along. If you want to keep the clues a surprise, come back once you’ve knitted them. Welcome back to our weekly MKAL Zoom sessions! This recording is from Sunday 25 October, after Clue 4 dropped. It’s wedge week! 🧶 Anita, Benita and Cathy joined me this week: ✨ Anita finished Clue 3 and has started her Clue 4 wedges. ✨ Benita threw a spanner in the works and picked up her first version of the shawl again! ✨ Cathy is finishing her Clue 4 wedges. Her shawl will be a gift for a friend, and she’s already planning a blue one for herself. 💙 I had an eventful Clue 3: I broke my interchangeable knitting needle! I also misread the second-last row of Clue 3 and knitted a single yarn over where there should have been two. Always read that row twice! And I won’t be sad when I’ve finished knitting these wedges. 😄 In this session: 🧶 Catch-ups and progress from everyone on the call 🧶 My Clue 3 lessons: a broken needle and a missed double yarn over 🧶 Clue 4 tips: how many wedges are in the “mountains” and the “valleys” 🧶 Where the wedges sit compared to the mounds from Clue 3 🧶 Gifting your MKAL and planning a second version If your wedges don’t seem to line up, watch the tips section. Knowing where the mountains and valleys sit over the Clue 3 mounds makes Clue 4 much easier to follow. I always say the MKAL is “a knitting masterclass for the price of a pattern,” and Clue 4 is keeping us all on our toes! 📅 JOIN US LIVE We meet on Zoom every week during the MKAL.
