St. Louis - Metrolink Opening Ceremony 7-31-93

Another fine light rail system opens during the great American light rail renaissance. This one, like the LA Blue line, has all high level boarding at stations. It goes miles out into the suburbs on both sides of downtown St. Louis and also serves an international airport. Its unfortunate that this was built so late, as the greater St. Louis area had already suburbanized and become the massive traffic choked asteroid belt of auto-dependent housing, schools and chain store malls.
