Randy Smith - Never, Never Gonna Give Ya Up - (Barry White - Bass Cover)

“Never, Never Gonna Give Ya Up” is a song written, produced & recorded by legendary R&B singer Barry White for his 1973 release “Stone Gon”. I’m not really sure because Barry never put player credits on his albums back then( it’s been said that mainly because he didn’t want other artists to “steal” his players or sound) but I do know that a very young Nathan East was playing in Barry’s band during this period so it very well could be Nate laying down this greasy, soulful groove. If anyone knows for sure, please leave me a comment😉!! I tried to capture that old school vibe on here so I chose my 1977 Fender Reissue Jazz Bass strung with Flatwounds for a more vintage tone. Anyway, I hope you dig my take on this. Please like, subscribe & share it with your friends. Now, hang up your velvet paintings, turn on your lava lamp, slip on your platform shoes & leisure suits and groove to the funkiness. In the words of the late great Don Cornelius as he closed every episode of Soul Train….”Peace, Love & Soooul” to you all✌🏼❤️✊🏾
