Do you sit down to study but find yourself checking your phone, watching videos, daydreaming, or getting distracted after just a few minutes?
You're not alone.
Concentration is a skill, and it can be improved.
In today's video, I share 8 practical ways students can improve their concentration and stay focused while studying.
In this video, you'll learn how to:
1. Study with a clear goal
2. Remove distractions before you start
3. Use short, focused study sessions
4. Take proper breaks
5. Create a study environment that supports focus
6. Use active learning techniques
7. Take care of your body and get enough rest
8. Train your ability to focus gradually
WHAT ABOUT YOUR PHONE?
Your smartphone can be a great educational tool, but it can also become one of your biggest distractions.
Before studying, ask yourself:
“Do I really need my phone for this task?”
If you don't need it, put it away.
If you do need it, use it intentionally.
Use technology as a tool, not as a distraction.
A MESSAGE FOR STUDENTS
You don't necessarily need to study for 10 hours a day to succeed.
What matters is how effectively you use the time available to you.
Thirty minutes of focused studying can be more productive than two hours of distracted studying.
Don't only ask:
“How long did I study?”
Ask:
“How much did I actually learn?”
A MESSAGE FOR PARENTS
If your child struggles to concentrate, don't immediately label them lazy.
Look at the bigger picture.
Is the study environment too noisy?
Are there too many distractions?
Does the child understand the material?
Are they getting enough rest?
Is the study session too long?
Sometimes, changing the environment and study method can make studying much easier.
THE 30-MINUTE FOCUS CHALLENGE
Try this today:
Step 1: Put your phone away.
Step 2: Choose one specific learning goal.
Step 3: Set a timer for 25 minutes.
Step 4: Study without distractions.
Step 5: Take a 5-minute break.
Then ask yourself:
“What did I learn during those 25 minutes?”
Try it every day for one week and see how much progress you can make.
THE FOCUS FORMULA
CLEAR GOAL + FEWER DISTRACTIONS + FOCUSED TIME + ACTIVE LEARNING + PROPER REST = BETTER STUDY
You don't need to make studying complicated.
Create the right conditions, focus on one task, take breaks, and repeat.
THE BIG LESSON
You don't need more hours. You need to use the hours you already have better.
QUESTION OF THE DAY
Students: What distracts you the most when you're trying to study?
Your phone?
Television?
Social media?
Tiredness?
Noise at home?
