Somebody recommended this in the comments, and I remember them from my teenage years. I remember thinking “Push The Button” was a great pop song at the time, so I wanted to see what they’re up to these days. It’s a great 80s production with a modern, clear-sounding vocal. It starts heavy, then a beautiful pop melody comes in, with hints of Gary Numan. There’s not much going on apart from the voices, but the automation has things rising and falling, and the synths and the voices sound crystal clear. If this is a comeback, it would be easy to lean into what’s popular or go for nostalgia, but it feels like they’re making the pop record they want to make. I’m assuming they’re heavily involved in the writing and the production. If you’re a Sugababes fan, fill me in on their story. 0:00 The Sugababes are back 0:46 What a great production 1:06 A great 80s production with a modern vocal 1:57 The production is beautiful 2:42 Hints of Gary Numan 2:51 How beautiful the voices sound 4:04 A comeback that doesn’t lean into nostalgia 5:38 A great chorus 6:30 Sugababes fans, fill me in 🎧 More new artist discoveries and reactions coming soon. 📌 Want the extended, unedited reactions?
